In the production of the talented artistic director of the Academic Theatre "Kyiv Modern-ballet" Radu Poklitaru, the famous story of the passionate Sevillian gypsy emerges from a completely new perspective. Preserving the spirit of Prosper Mérimée's novella and the immortal music of Georges Bizet, he created a performance where the classical organically intertwines with the contemporary. Every movement, every image, and every scene become an emotional language that tells of love, jealousy, freedom, and a fatal choice more powerfully than any-words.
The image of Micaela gains special significance in the production. She loses her status as José’s fiancée and becomes a kind of observer and driving force of the story. Through her perception, a dramatic narrative unfolds as if broadcast from a television screen. This original directorial idea explains the appearance of the abbreviation TV in the title of the performance and gives the classical plot a new artistic dimension. And it is worth seeing live!

Завдяки новаторській хореографії Раду Поклітару сценічне життя персонажів вистави наповнилося пронизливими сучасними інтонаціями, зберігши водночас шарм Іспанії ХІХ століття. Музика опери «Кармен» Жоржа Бізе дала змогу створити нову сценічну версію відомого сюжету, не відступаючи від його духу та емоційної напруги.
Декорації та костюми, створені театральними художниками Андрієм Злобіним і Ганною Іпатьєвою, наповнюють сценічний простір ритмом життя ХХІ століття, зберігаючи при цьому відчуття старої Іспанії.
