At the centre of the plot of ‘The Prostitute’ is Khristina, a young girl who finds herself on the brink of survival. Having lost her parents and left alone to face the cruelty of the world, she seeks refuge in Kyiv. Betrayal, humiliation, despair – all this becomes an integral part of her journey. And when it seems that there is no way out, cruel fate brings Khristina to an elite cabaret in the capital, marking another equally difficult stage in her life. Thus begins a story about the struggle for survival and the desire to remain oneself in a society governed by ruthless rules. Will Khristina be able to find her own happiness?
