Neoclassical ballet in Kyiv
The libretto for “Lesya” was written by Honored Artist of Ukraine and talented choreographer Artem Shoshin. He is the founder of the neoclassical ballet company Art ballet company and has already become known in theater and art circles for his performance “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors”. Artem Shoshin is also responsible for the choreography and staging of the performance. The poetic works of the famous romantic composer Franz Schubert became the perfect musical accompaniment for the performance.
The leading roles are performed by world-renowned Ukrainian ballet stars, whose talent and skill will add special depth and emotionality to the performance:
- prima ballerina, People's Artist of Ukraine Natalia Matsak
- Sergei Krivokon, premier of the National Ballet of Ukraine.

«Леся» - перша танцювальна вистава про життя і творчість Лесі Українки, жінки, яка стала символом жіночності, національної культури, свободи та незламності.
Провідні партії виконують всесвітньо відомі зірки українського балету - прима балерина, Народна артистка України Наталія Мацак та прем’єр Національного балету України Сергій Кривоконь.
Дивовижна доля геніальної поетеси та письменниці Лесі Українки надихнула балетмейстера Артема Шошина на створення піднесеної та метафоричної хореографічної розповіді. Балет демонструє, як за образом канонічної постаті ховається жива жінка зі своїми почуттями, пристрастями та драмами. Хореографія Шошина наповнена гостротою і водночас ніжністю: кожен рух балету — це емоція, кожна сцена — історія.
Лібрето засноване на реальних подіях. У виставі мовою неокласичної хореографії у вільній, поетично переосмисленій формі відтворюються етапи життя героїні та являються дорогі її серцю люди. Це балет про кохання, творчість та героїчну боротьбу з недугою.
Балет створено на поетичну музику композитора-романтика Франца Шуберта.
