We invite you to a new masterpiece by Radu Poklitaru and Kyiv Modern-Ballet – the long-awaited premiere' of the phantasmagoric ballet- in two acts “The Nutcracker. Version”! This is a new staging of the story about a dream, love, and a miracle based on the famous work of Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”, where the traditional Christmas plot is given a modern choreographic language and a special emotional atmosphere.

A Christmas tale through a child's eyes

At the center of the performance "The Nutcracker. Version» remains a little girl who dreams above all of warmth, home, and love. Her dream becomes the beginning of a fantastic journey where the boundaries between reality and imagination disappear, and the winter night fills with strange images, secrets, and unexpected encounters.

Radu Poklitaru reinterprets the familiar Christmas story, keeping the main thing in it – the child's ability to see a miracle where adults no longer notice it. Festive images, whimsical fantasy, and contemporary choreography compose a story about love, compassion, inner strength, and the desire to be heard. This is a tale not only about a magical world but also about feelings that remain important regardless of age.

“The Nutcracker. Version”: a new premiere by Radu Poklitaru

The original music score by Ukrainian composer Oleksandr Rodin will give a special sound to the production. It combines the anticipation of the holiday, the tenderness of a child's fantasy, warmth, and deep emotionality. The music becomes an important part of this winter journey, helping to create an atmosphere of a dream where everything can turn out to be reality.

Performed by Kyiv Modern-Ballet, Radu Poklitaru's choreography transforms the stage into a fairy-tale space where music, light, movement, and fantasy exist as a single whole. Therefore, “The Nutcracker. Version” will become a special theatrical event for the whole family – an opportunity to immerse together in the world of Christmas wonder and for some time believe again in the power of a dream.

Прем'єра. «Лускунчик. Версія» – балет-фантасмагорія на дві дії у постановці Раду Поклітару за мотивами твору Ернста Теодора Амадея Гофмана «Лускунчик і Мишачий король».

У новій українській версії знайома різдвяна історія постає в особливій атмосфері мрії, дива й тонких людських почуттів. Для цієї постановки український композитор Олександр Родін створює оригінальну музичну партитуру, що має наповнити балет світлим передчуттям свята, ніжністю дитячої фантазії, теплом і глибокою емоційністю.

У центрі вистави «Лускунчик. Версія» – маленька дівчинка, яка понад усе мріє про тепло, дім і любов. Її сон відкриває химерний світ, де реальність переплітається з казкою, оживають дивні образи, а зимова ніч перетворюється на подорож крізь мрію, ніжність і бажання бути почутою.
